What do I have to do?
As a minimum, ensure that there is an Asbestos Management Plan for the property.
Are surveys required?
Without knowing where asbestos is present an Asbestos Management Plan cannot be meaningfully written. Consequently a survey is necessary to ensure that asbestos-containing materials can be managed.
What are management re-inspections?
These are where a competent person revisits all known asbestos-containing materials within a premises on a periodic basis.
How often are the management reinspections undertaken?
This is subject to risk assessment but generally on an annual basis.
Who can undertake the management reinspections?
Any competent person but ideally someone with the P402 certificate in asbestos surveying.
